Interbank Market Rates

The interbank market is the highest level FX market where more than a thousand banks exchange different currencies. The banks can either deal with one another directly, or through electronic brokering platforms. The currencies of most developed countries have floating exchange rates. These currencies do not have fixed values but, rather, values that fluctuate relative to other currencies.

The interbank market is an important segment of the foreign exchange market. As a wholesale market it channels and deals with most currency transactions. It is mainly used for trading among bankers. The mid-prices quoted on the FirstFX Homepage and other pages are indicative prices we receive from an external price feed that reflects the interbank market. Although we believe these prices to be accurate we do not guarantee their accuracy and we are not liable for any loss that may result from a reliance placed on these rates.
